Thank you 2M families! We had a great time decorating pumpkins on Thursday! Many thanks to the 2M room parents for organizing all of the supplies and thank you to all for your generous donations to the project. It was perfect!
We went to see the rotting log and we noticed dirt. We also noticed that the bottom of the log was lighter than the top. We noticed that it was twisted on the bottom. We saw the rotting log sign, but it was so dirty we couldn’t see it. R. made a new sign for us! We found I's pen from when he was looking at the rotting log during Extended Day. We also noticed that there was a thin layer of moss covering part of the log. There were lots of leaves around it and sticks. Ms. Maxwell put sticks around the log so we would stay behind the sticks. We didn’t see any creatures. We thought we were going to see beetles, millipedes, and centipedes. –Shared Writing by 2M Scientists
It's official! The K-2 laptop cart is ready and living in 2M! We are so excited to be hosting the cart! Here we are using Kid Pix to make a dot, for "Dot Day." The goal of this activity was to learn how to take care of the materials and to practice using the track pad.
In writing workshop, many students are preparing their stories for publishing. To do this students "fancy up and fix" their writing. We use the analogy of getting married. Just as people fancy up for a wedding, we do the same to prepare for publishing. Part of fancying up your writing is adding a cover. On Friday, students created nests with their nature walk partners. The nests will be displayed in the library shortly! We had a great nature walk on Thursday! Students were paired with peers from other classes for the trip. Students created four science observations and collected items to make nests. |
